Bringing in the New Year

Lake Washington on a Sunday morning...

I am in awe when I see the sunrise. There are so many beautiful colors. It is definitely a wonderful way to start the day.

Experimenting with my new camera. It will take some time getting used to. Dy was showing me the ropes. She took the one below.

Russian word, not sure what it means. Maybe bread, hence it was a bread shop.

We had some visitors for New Years. Our good friends Dyanna and Nick came to visit. We went on an underground tour of downtown Seattle. The old Seattle was burnt down by a guy trying to heat up glue for his work as a carpenter. The firefighters left the city and the citizens tried to smother the fire with buckets of water from the sound. It was pretty interesting. If you want to learn more read here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Seattle_fire
Columbia tower

We went kayaking at Kitsap lake in misting rain, or so they call it. We also ascended to the top of the Columbia Tower for the first time. It was sight to behold.
Walked down Pikes market and ate at Lowells. We had yummy fish tacos. It was nice to have others that like to eat seafood. :) We had fun, Nick and Dy, come back anytime. We hope to have more visitors (hint, hint).

Adam started church basketball. I love watching him play! He's such a stud!

Ashlyn and Camden watching the game. I was more entertained watching them than the last 12 sec. of the game. It seems like the last 12 sec. last forever. . .but hey they won!

The Spirit of Christmas

The true meaning of Christmas is about the birth of our Savior. I love this time of year when we can sing, listen to, and play songs about Christ. We always feel the Spirit more deeply and more often at this time of year. It gives us a chance to focus on what's most important in life, to spend time with family, and to have quiet reflection about our relationship with Jesus Christ. Isn't Christmas the best??

Mahalo Luau

Hiking along the Pacific Ocean.

We made it to the end of the Kalalau trail and camped on the beach.

We were blown away by the FIREDANCER. He put the flame on his tongue and his feet. Does he not have any feeling or what?

US enjoying the Luau. Do you like his tatt?

ALOOOOHA!

This was a very muddy trail and Adam hiked it in flip flops with and injured calf. This was the 2 mile hike to the beach.

My sis and I did the Napali Coast total 22 miles in 2 days. Adam hurt his calf playing flag football, so he couldn't hike very far.

If you can't see all the tallies there are 82 people that have died at this beach. There wasn't anybody even close to the water. Sure was beautiful though!

soon more pics of napali to come. sorry bout so many pics of Hawaii. It truly is paradise!
